If you have an aesthetic goal like losing weight or gaining muscle it's absolutely necessary to know your TDEE.
TDEE stands for 'Total Daily Energy Expenditure' and it tells us how much YOU personally need to eat for YOUR goals. It tells us how many calories you need to eat to stay at maintenance and from there gives you the power to know exactly how much you need to subtract or add based on your goals.
